Find this everywhere too @blair_gibson78, like people who insist they told you the time but only said "it's late.

inWasted $80 on a cheap chain whip that bent on the first use
Bought a $15 chain whip off eBay last year and it folded like a soda can on the second cassette I tried. The metal was so thin you could see it flex just looking at it. I picked up a Park Tool one after that and it's been solid for over two years now. Sometimes the cheap stuff is just made to break so you have to replace it. If you're doing more than one cassette, save yourself the hassle and go name brand.

inDress code policy got me written up on day 3
My cousin used to tell me I was too sensitive about dress codes, but after reading this I totally get it now. Three years ago I worked at a law firm where they wrote me up for wearing a blue shirt on casual Friday because "real lawyers don't wear bright colors." Nothing in the handbook said anything about colors. It feels like they expect you to read their minds or overhear secret meetings to know the real rules.

inThat warehouse carpet job from last fall still haunts me...
Oh, you said "bottom dollar" and that just took me back to this whole thing my cousin dealt with last year. She bought this super cheap laminate for her little home office, you know, the kind that's basically cardboard with a picture of wood on top? She was so proud of how it looked for like a week, and then her desk chair started leaving these little black scuff marks that would not come off. She tried everything, even that magic eraser stuff (which actually just took the finish off, oops). Anyway, she got exactly what she paid for, which is pretty much the same as that warehouse floor with the wrinkles. People forget that "budget friendly" often means "friendly to your wallet, but mean to your expectations.
