My climbing line was fraying too fast until I tried a different friction hitch

I was replacing my climbing line every 3 months on removals near Denver. Switched from a Michoacan to a Distel hitch and the wear dropped by half. Anyone else see big differences switching hitch types?

Man, the Distel really made a difference for me too in Colorado conditions.

Yeah, you think bark grit is the main killer up there? I’m wondering if the Distel just handles the dirt better.
