inThe 99 cent corn tortilla trick backfired on me at the Denver food bank line
Man, cracking into shards by Friday sounds rough, that's like biting into a cracker with extra steps. Freezing them same day is the move though, that's what I do with any bread I grab on sale.

inFound a quiet stretch near Kelowna that changed my weekend routine
Is the gravel pretty packed down past McCulloch, or does it get loose in the shady spots? I found a similar quiet stretch near Penticton last fall, and what worked for me was going midweek right after a dry spell, because the surface stays firm and you don't sink into the soft stuff. That extra drive totally paid off once I figured out the timing, so maybe try a weekday morning if this weekend crowd keeps showing up.

inSwapped my soldering iron for a cheap one at a garage sale
Take that lesson and run with it, man. I grabbed a $30 pawn shop multimeter years ago, and it reads caps and resistors just as clean as my buddy's $150 Fluke. The real magic is how you set up your workflow, not the gear. Once you learn to trust your ears and your hands, the funny thing is you stop babying the expensive stuff and start building faster. I've got a $60 soldering station now that I picked up off a guy who was moving, and it beats the hell out of the name brand one I sold online. Tbh, the only thing that really matters is keeping that tip clean and using the right size for the joint. Cheap tools just force you to slow down and get the basics right, which honestly makes you a better builder in the long run.

inThe dead mall parking lot in Fresno changed my mind about solar
Dead concrete beats dead grass for panels, honestly.

inShoutout to the Google Lens trick for reading my dog's med labels
3AM dosing schedules are where Lens REALLY saves you, those tiny labels blur together.
