I thought cataloging a single pottery shard from a dig in Crete would take an hour, tops
It took me 3 days to properly match the glaze pattern to a specific workshop in ancient Knossos. Anyone else get totally derailed by a tiny find?

That's the worst. The real time sink is when you finally match it, then you have to update every related database entry from the last twenty years. All those old site reports become wrong overnight.
