inThe grading crew that left my driveway looking like a ski jump
Man that sucks, and honestly it makes me feel a little better about my own driveway because at least mine only has a 3 foot sinkhole at the end. My guy said it was "settling" too, but pretty sure it was just his level being a potato. Bet your culvert's got a better slope than their learning curve lol. Keep taking photos of the washout every rain, that's the only way they'll finally admit the grade was toast from day one.

inJust realized I was booking flights all wrong for 2 years
The whole "airport quality" filter thing hit way too close to home. I spent a solid year bragging about my cheap flights to friends, only to realize I was essentially living in airport terminals for entire weekends. My personal dumb moment was booking a "red eye" flight thinking it meant the plane had cool neon lights, turns out it just means you arrive looking like a zombie and have to nap in a food court. I once picked a layover in a city where the only wifi was at a Starbucks that closed at 6pm, and I was stuck there for 9 hours with zero signal and a dead phone. Honestly, I've learned more about airport lounges from random Reddit threads than from any travel site. But hey, at least we're not the guy who pays $800 for a direct flight when a $200 one with a 4 hour layover in Singapore exists. That's still me, though.

inSaw a solar co-op sign in Boise, wish more towns did this
Honestly those co-ops sound great on paper but the savings math never works out once you factor in maintenance and the fact that panels degrade. The 80 households part is the red flag too, more people means more arguments about who pays when something breaks.

inThe VHS bins at the thrift store changed my bad movie night forever
Pure gold" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting there, for sure. My buddy Mark found a tape called "Wizard of the Swamp" and it was literally just a guy in a burlap sack yelling at frogs for 45 minutes. So I totally get where you're coming from, @kelly.robin, most of these are just poorly made instead of entertainingly bad.

inPSA: That "free" public wifi at the coffee shop on Elm Street is not safe even with a VPN
Did you catch that article someone posted about DNS hijacking through public wifi? Sounds like that's exactly what happened to him, the router probably redirected him to a fake login page without him even noticing.
