Just read that Roman concrete gets stronger in seawater and it blew my mind

I was looking at a study from the University of Utah about the Pantheon's dome. The article said they found a specific volcanic ash mix in the concrete that reacts with salt water to form new minerals, actually fixing cracks over time. Our modern stuff just breaks down in the ocean after a few decades. I found this in a science journal my friend sent me last Tuesday. How did we lose a building material that good?

Yeah, it's a real shame. Feels like we're forgetting so much.
