My professor told me I was 'context blind' after I mislabeled a 2nd century Roman coin from a dig in York.
Honestly, I started taking photos of every single artifact in situ with a ruler and a north arrow before I even think about picking it up, so do you guys have a favorite field photography setup?

What camera do you use? I switched to a mirrorless with a macro lens for small finds, and it made a huge difference.

So you're telling me my phone camera and shaky hands aren't the professional setup I thought they were? I'm still using an old DSLR that sounds like a machine gun when I take a picture. The battery lasts about five minutes.
