Went to a dig site in Oklahoma that nobody talks about

I was down near the Wichita Mountains last month helping a buddy with some land clearing and stumbled onto a creek bed full of chipped flint. Hundreds of pieces, some big as my palm, scattered right on the surface after a rain. The locals said it's an old quarry spot where tribes used to make arrowheads and tools. I picked up a few flakes to show my nephew who's into history. The colors were wild, pale gray and reddish brown that you don't see around my parts. Has anyone else come across a site like this just by accident? I'm curious if I should report it to somebody or just leave it alone.

...my buddy Dave found a whole pile of points out by Broken Bow a few years back, just sitting in a washout after a big storm. He took a couple of the nicer ones home and the local university's anthropology department asked to see them, ended up taking casts and giving him a map of the area to avoid. I'd say report it if you got the time, but keep a few for your nephew, it's not like you're looting a museum.

Old timers around here would say you found a box of 100 year old teeth and ask if you want dentures. For real though that's a cool find.
