Just had a local binder correct my sewing method

A guy named Dave at the monthly bookbinder meetup in Portland told me I was sewing my signatures too tight (like, pulling the thread until it creaked). I tried his looser tension on a recent rebind of an old cookbook and the spine actually opened flat for the first time. Has anyone else had to unlearn a habit from watching YouTube tutorials?

Just realized that agency review I ignored was actually spot on

Last year a client sent me a 2-star review saying our email campaigns were too pushy. I brushed it off since we had 50 five-star reviews. But after losing 3 clients in 6 months, I went back and reread it. The reviewer was right - we were sending daily promos instead of helpful content. Has anyone else had a review that stung at first but ended up teaching you something?

Went to a dig site in Oklahoma that nobody talks about

I was down near the Wichita Mountains last month helping a buddy with some land clearing and stumbled onto a creek bed full of chipped flint. Hundreds of pieces, some big as my palm, scattered right on the surface after a rain. The locals said it's an old quarry spot where tribes used to make arrowheads and tools. I picked up a few flakes to show my nephew who's into history. The colors were wild, pale gray and reddish brown that you don't see around my parts. Has anyone else come across a site like this just by accident? I'm curious if I should report it to somebody or just leave it alone.

The great debate: preheating the air fryer or just tossing food in cold?

I used to always preheat my air fryer like the manual said (you know, 3-5 minutes at 400F). But last week I was in a rush and just threw some frozen chicken wings in without preheating, and honestly? They came out crispier on the outside and still juicy inside. The preheated batch took longer and dried out a bit. So what's the real move here, does preheating actually matter or is it just a waste of time? Has anyone else tested this side by side?

Rant: I chased a phantom rattle for three days and it was a loose quarter in the glove box

Customer came in with a 2018 Civic, said there was a terrible noise from the front end over bumps. I spent hours checking suspension, exhaust hangers, even the heat shields. I finally found the source when I opened the glove box and a single quarter fell out and rolled across the floor. The bill for the diag time was over $300. Always check the simple stuff first, right? What's the dumbest thing you've ever found causing a noise complaint?

Serious question, has anyone else tried the 30-minute sheet pan chicken vs. the 45-minute one-pot pasta?

I made the pasta last Tuesday and it took way longer with all the stirring, but the chicken just goes in the oven at 400 degrees and you're done. The cleanup difference is huge, like one pan versus a pot, a spoon, and a cutting board. Which one do you guys think is actually faster for a real busy night?
