DAE get a question that makes you question your own hobby?

Last month, my nephew asked me why I bother collecting stamps if you can just look at pictures online. I tried explaining the history and the art, but he just shrugged. How do you explain the value of a physical collection to someone who doesn't get it?

My uncle has a whole room for his model trains. I asked him the same thing once. It's just plastic on a table, right? But he gets this look when he's fixing a tiny part. Maybe the point is just the quiet time it gives you, not the stuff itself.

Ever see someone just totally lost in a small task? My buddy gets that way fixing old radios. He says his brain just goes quiet for a bit.
