I tried it last week in a thread about odd hobbies. The first reply was a guy who asked a pet psychic if his goldfish was happy (it was, apparently). Then someone else asked if they could mail a potato to a friend in another state for no reason (they could, and did). It got way more replies than my normal questions. Has anyone else found a question that just works every time to get people talking?

Oh the potato mailing thing. I actually heard it was a sweet potato, not a regular potato. That changes the whole story for me because sweet potatoes are way more expensive to ship. Makes the whole joke even weirder and more specific.
