Serious question, is the Milky Way core shot from Joshua Tree getting overdone?
I was out there last month, camped near the Jumbo Rocks area, and I swear every third person had a tripod pointed at the galactic center. On one hand, it's an iconic view with those crazy rock formations in the foreground. On the other, it feels like we're all taking the same picture. Has anyone found a truly unique foreground out there that isn't just another boulder?

Every third person had a tripod" sounds about right for the world's most crowded solo photoshoot.

I was at Horseshoe Bend last year and it was exactly like that. A solid line of people waiting just to step up to the edge for two seconds. You had to time your shot between other people's tripod legs.

And it's like that everywhere now, not just famous spots. I see it at the local rose garden or even a good sunset over the parking lot. People are so focused on getting the same picture for their feed that they forget to actually look at the thing in front of them. The whole point of being somewhere gets lost in the rush to prove you were there. It just feels like we're all collecting digital trophies instead of real experiences anymore.
