Totally agree. Used to think they were just boring star streaks, but after messing with it myself I finally saw the cool factor.

5 second exposure of Orion. Got the faint red glow of the horsehead nebula in there. That was the moment it clicked. All that gas and dust we never see with our eyes, just sitting there in the dark. Felt like I had a secret superpower. People look at the same stars every night and miss half the show.
