I used to think buying bulk rice was always the cheapest option until I ran the numbers on a 6-month stretch last winter

Turns out bulk bins at the co-op cost more per pound than the 20-pound bags at the ethnic grocery store, but the savings disappear if you don't have a dry pantry spot and half goes to weevils, so which do you pick when storage space is tight?

Swapped my old circular saw blade for a Diablo and cut time in half

I used to think any blade was good enough for framing lumber. After fighting through some wet spruce for a deck last summer, I grabbed a Diablo 7-1/4 inch 24 tooth blade at Home Depot in Edmonton. First cut through pressure treated 2x6 was like butter compared to the old worn out Irwin. Anyone else notice a big difference upgrading blades or am I just slow?

Wasted $80 on a fancy coaxial stripper that only worked twice

Saw this premium ratcheting coax stripper online, supposedly the best thing since sliced bread for avionics work. Ordered it for $80 and felt like a pro stripping my first cable with it. On the third use, the blade snapped clean off inside the tool and jammed it up. Tried to warranty it but the company ghosted me. Anyone else get burned by a tool that looked legit but fell apart fast?

Can we talk about season 2 of that show where everyone said 'it gets better'?

I put off watching The Expanse for years because the first 3 episodes felt like homework. Everyone kept telling me to stick with it, that season 2 is where it really picks up. I finally forced myself through season 1 and by episode 4 of season 2 I was hooked. Has anyone else spent too much time grinding through a slow start just because of hype?
