Heard an estimator in Dallas say 'blend the whole side or eat the comeback' and it stuck with me
Was grabbing lunch near the shop in Dallas and overheard two painters talking about a pearl white bumper job gone wrong. One guy said if you don't blend the whole side on tricoats, the customer will bring it back in three months under different light and you'll be repainting it for free. That got me thinking about how much time I waste chasing comebacks instead of just doing the extra panel up front. I tried it on a silver Malibu quarter last week and the match was dead on with half the stress. Anyone else have a color that keeps biting them no matter how careful you are?
