Just realized I've been loading trailers wrong for 3 years

Back when I started hauling cars I always put the heaviest vehicle in front, thought that gave the best balance lol. Caught a video from a guy in Ohio last week showing how weight distribution actually works with axle loads, and I felt pretty dumb. He pointed out that putting a 6000 pound SUV behind the axles can actually make the front end too light going up hills in places like Pennsylvania. Has anyone else had to unlearn something they thought was common sense in this business?

Ohio guy knows his stuff. That uphill front end lift is scary.

You're telling me. The way the front end just lifts up on a steep uphill climb is something else. I watched a video of a guy on a Honda Pioneer doing that on a muddy trail and his front tires came up a good 18 inches off the ground. My heart jumped just watching it on screen.
