Borrowed a cheap multimeter and it lied to me for 2 days

Last month in the hangar, my Fluke was in for calibration so I grabbed a $15 unit from the parts room. It read continuity on a dead harness, so I spent two days chasing a fault that wasn't there. Turned out the meter's buzzer fired on anything above 5 ohms. Anyone else run into a budget tool that gave false confidence on wire checks?

Test every cheap meter against a known good wire first, saves your sanity.
