My shop in Dayton still uses paper logs for everything and I'm over it.

We used to track every single wire run on a big paper chart taped to the wall, which took forever and got coffee spilled on it twice. After a 737 job last month where we wasted half a day finding a mistake on the chart, I started using a simple spreadsheet on my phone. Has anyone else's shop finally made the switch to digital, or are we the last ones?

God, that sounds familiar. A buddy at a shop in Cleveland had the same paper chart mess, and they lost a whole contract because their coffee-stained log had a wrong pinout that nobody caught. They finally switched to a basic digital tracker last year and cut their rework time in half. It's like what blake432 said, spreadsheets or any simple digital system just stop those stupid, costly mistakes dead. Watching them fight that paper chart was enough to make anyone scream.

Spreadsheets saved us a ton of time too.
