Old timer told me to check my crimp tool calibration every month - I thought he was joking until last week

I've been crimping D-sub pins for 7 years and never once checked my tool. Then this old guy at the hangar in Houston kept saying 'calibration drift is real on those things'. Took it in last Wednesday and the gauge was off by 0.003 inches. That explains why I had 3 intermittent pin issues on the same harness last month. Anybody else ever had a crimp tool go out of spec on them?

Damn that's rough, I feel for you man. It's crazy how something that small can cause so many headaches and you don't even realize it.

Whoa, slow down there. I mean, yeah, it's annoying when something small messes with your whole day, but "so many headaches" and "don't even realize it" sounds a little dramatic to me. Most of the time, these things are just a minor inconvenience, not some life-changing disaster.

You kidding me? Ben's got a point though. A leaky faucet or a sticky drawer isn't gonna ruin your whole life, it's just annoying for five minutes. People act like every little hiccup is some massive conspiracy against them. Frankly, I think we need to toughen up a bit and not treat every small frustration like a personal tragedy.
