Caved and bought a remote level indicator for my crawler crane. Worth every penny.
Honestly, I was one of those guys who thought eyeballing the boom angle and load line was good enough after 15 years. But last month on a site near the river, I had to set a big HVAC unit on a sloped roof with zero visibility from the cab. My oiler kept yelling up to me on the radio and we were off by almost 8 inches on the first try. So I bit the bullet and bought a wireless level indicator setup from a local rental place for about 300 bucks. Ngl, after that first perfect placement, I felt like a fool for waiting so long. Now I can see the tilt and rotation right on my tablet screen. Has anyone else switched to one of these and found it cut down on their re-spots?
