Pro tip: Took a burnt connector apart at PDX and found my new cleaning method

I was working a Cessna 172 at PDX last Thursday and pulled a connector that looked fine on the outside. Inside though, there was green crust all over the pins from corrosion. I tried my usual contact cleaner and it barely touched it. So I grabbed some 99% isopropyl alcohol and a soft bristle brush, soaked the pins for 2 minutes, then scrubbed gently. The green came right off and the connector tested perfect after. Has anyone else found a better trick for corrosion on those round cannon plugs?

Read that vinegar and baking soda works well on that kind of corrosion.

Tried that trick once on a car battery and ended up with foam everywhere, but hey, it did clean the terminals.
