That stretch of the AT in Maryland I hiked 10 years ago is barely recognizable now

Cmon, the trail's been there for decades, a few reroutes and some new campsites don't make it unrecognizable. Sounds like you just forgot what it looked like.

Wait, are we talking about the same section? I hiked the MD AT back in 2014 and the reroute near Gathland State Park is pretty drastic, with the new boardwalk over the wetland area. @martin.margaret, maybe you haven't been through since they moved that whole stretch about a mile east a couple years back. The old path had that rocky scramble down to the creek, now it's all switchbacks and a bridge.
