I was cleaning my hummingbird feeder with soap for years until a ranger at Redwood Park said it leaves a film they hate.
Now I just use hot water and a bottle brush, and I've got three times as many visitors! Anyone else switch up their cleaning routine and see better results?

That bit about the soap leaving a film they hate really hits home. It's like how we overcomplicate so many things with extra products when the simple, old school way often works better. I stopped using fancy cleaners on my car windows and just use vinegar and newspaper now, no streaks at all. Makes you wonder what other routines we're messing up without even knowing, right?
