Tried two different suet feeders and the cage one got wrecked by squirrels in a week

I put up a cheap plastic suet feeder and a metal cage style one at the same time, and the plastic one was completely torn apart by squirrels in under seven days while the cage is still fine. Honestly, the metal one cost about $5 more but it's holding up way better against their chewing. Anyone have a good brand for a really tough suet feeder that lasts more than a season?

Yeah, squirrels are the worst lol. Have you tried the ones with the metal roof over the suet? That extra bit of cover seems to slow them down a lot. I got a Perky-Pet one like that and it's lasted two winters so far without any real damage.

Metal cages are definitely the way to go for durability in my experience. The squirrels around here will chew through anything plastic or wood in no time. I've had a basic metal one from the hardware store for a few years now and it's still solid.
