Cedar pergola posts rotted in 4 years, so I'm done with wood
I built a pergola in Portland back in 2021 and used cedar posts because everyone on here swore by it. After 4 rainy winters the bottoms are mush, and my local lumber guy told me he's seen the same thing with treated pine too. Am I overreacting by going to steel posts, or has anyone else had better luck with a specific wood treatment that actually holds up?
