Moved my compost bin 3 feet and it finally broke down in 2 weeks
It was sitting on solid dirt the whole time so nothing drained, lifted it onto cinder blocks with a pallet on top and now the bottom layer actually rots, has anyone else fixed a lazy pile just by changing where it sits?

Drainage makes such a huge difference, did you notice any smell change too? I had mine on concrete and the bottom turned into this gross sludge that never broke down, so I get it. Curious if the pallet method helped with air flow or if it was really just the height saving it.
