Dishwasher broke at 7am on a Tuesday. Fixed it myself somehow.

My dishwasher just died mid-cycle. Water everywhere at 6am. I was late for work, mad, and ready to buy a new one. Then I googled the error code. Turned out it was just a clogged drain pump. Took 20 minutes with a screwdriver and a pair of needle-nose pliers. Saved myself $500 at least. The feeling of hearing it run again was better than coffee. Has anyone else had a minor fix turn their whole day around?

Better than coffee" - I'd need a nap after that kind of DIY heroics.

Whoa hold on, I gotta push back on this a little. @lucas_grant83 is right that DIY can be exhausting, but you're missing the real win here. You fixed it yourself, saved money, and got that rush of proving the machine wrong. That feeling is worth more than a nap. I'd rather have that energy than spend an hour on hold with a repair guy who'd tell me the same thing for $100. Plus, now you know how to fix it next time, so you're not a victim of the dishwasher anymore. That's power, not a headache.
