inTIL that the $15 earplugs I bought at the pharmacy actually help me sleep through the noise of my neighbor's dog barking all night
Ever notice how we'll suffer through something for months before trying the cheapest fix possible? Happens with everything. I put up with a leaky kitchen faucet for a whole year before spending 8 bucks on a new washer. Fixed it in ten minutes. Same with earplugs. People think if it ain't expensive or high tech it won't work. But a simple foam plug in the right shape does the job better than those fancy molded ones sometimes.

inShowerthought: I found out the most binged show on Netflix is actually a kids cartoon from 2011
Hang on, is this really that deep though? People have been saying The Office is overrated for years, so it's not exactly a shocker that a kid's show with way more episodes crushes it in total watch time. Does anyone actually care about this stat or is it just another "well actually" moment?

inFinally stopped taping transitions and started using adhesive after a tip in Denver
Hold on, is taping really that serious of a problem?

inHad a conversation with a old timer that made me rethink torque specs
Hasn't that always been the thing though, you spend years learning the hard way only to realize the old guys already figured out the shortcuts? I used to be all about the exact number in the manual too until a Cessna guy showed me how a little lube and feel can get you way more consistent results than chasing decimals. Your mileage may vary but I've found that trusting your hands over the book has saved me a ton of time on jobs.

inJust realized my old way of rounding spines was making my books look lumpy
In my experience that's true across a lot of stuff, like how I can use a cheap chef's knife just fine if I take my time with the cuts but a fancy one won't fix bad chopping habits. Technique is the foundation, the tool just removes friction once you've got the basics down.
