My take: Troll 2 is a boring mess and you all just like the memes, not the movie
I sat through Troll 2 at a packed bad movie night in Austin last Friday and checked my phone twice. The famous "oh my god" line got a laugh, but the other 90 minutes dragged with flat acting and no real weirdness. I think people rate it high because of YouTube clips, not because the film works as a fun watch with a crowd. Give me The Room or Miami Connection any night, those actually build energy in a room. What's a so bad it's good movie you think gets a free pass just because of one famous scene?
Wait, you checked your phone twice during Troll 2 at a packed bad movie night? That is wild to me, because the crowd going nuts is half the fun even when the movie is slow. Give me The Room any night too, but sitting through Troll 2 with a room full of people losing it beats watching clips alone on YouTube.
