The big debate: Should bad movies be watched totally sober or slightly buzzed?

I watched The Room with a group last weekend and half of us were nursing beers while the other half were stone cold sober. The sober crowd got bored by minute 30 while the buzzed folks were dying laughing at the same awful scene. Which side works better for you when the movie is truly terrible?

Aw man, I feel your pain! Totally agree that a terrible movie hits different when you've got a drink in hand to take the edge off.
