Went with the $12 oven thermometer over trusting my dial, and my cookies finally stopped burning
My oven runs about 25 degrees hotter than the dial says, which I only figured out after ruining three batches of chocolate chip cookies in one week. Dropped $12 on a cheap oven thermometer and now I just check it before I bake anything. Anyone else's oven lie to them like this?

My buddy Dave's oven ran 30 degrees hot and he burned every pizza for a month.
