Clippers got jammed mid-fade yesterday, learned a hard lesson about cleaning

My Wahl Magic Clips locked up on a client's hairline right at the 0.5 guard line, took me 20 minutes to unjam them with a tiny screwdriver. Does anyone else have a go-to trick for preventing hair from building up inside the blade housing?

Wrong term there mate, it's actually the clipper "blade" not the blade "housing" that holds the hair.

Honest mistake though, happens to the best of us when you're in a hurry to clean up (or in my case, trying to trim around a dog who won't sit still). I've definitely called the blade "the pointy part" more times than I'd like to admit. It's a relief to finally have the right name for it so I don't sound like a total fool next time.
