Tried a new way to hold my shears for a tight neckline and it actually worked
I was struggling with a shaky line on a guy's neck in my Toledo shop, so I switched to a reverse grip with my thumb on the bottom. Has anyone else tried a weird grip that ended up being a game changer?

My buddy who cuts hair in Dayton showed me his "pencil grip" for blending fades. He holds the clipper like a pencil with his fingers way up near the blade guard. It looked totally awkward but he gets crazy smooth blends with it now.

Yeah the reverse grip is clutch for that. I had the same shaky line problem on tight tapers until I started resting my pinky on the client's shoulder for stability. It locks your whole hand in place so you're not just relying on your wrist. Makes a huge difference on those super straight lines behind the ear too. Takes a minute to get used to but now it's my go to for any sharp detail work.
