Warning: cashier at the Goodwill on 8th told me the bins get picked clean before opening
I was digging through the $1 DVD bin last Saturday and the cashier laughed and said regulars line up at 8am to flip anything good on eBay. That got me thinking about how half the fun is never knowing what's in there. I still found a working George Foreman grill for $4, so maybe the picking is fine. But now I wonder if I have been wasting my time hunting for hidden gems. Does anyone here hit the bins early or just show up whenever?
Man, that cashier sounds like they were just messing with you a little. Sure, some folks line up early to flip stuff, but that does not mean the bins are empty by the time you roll in. Most of those resellers only grab the obvious stuff, and the good weird junk is still sitting there for the rest of us. You pulled a working George Foreman for $4, so clearly the picking is not as dead as they made it sound. Half the fun is the hunt anyway, and showing up whenever you feel like it still beats standing in line at 8am on a Saturday.
