Rode 4 hours to Franklin BBQ and the brisket line taught me more than the meat
Tbh I drove down to Austin last Saturday just to see what the hype was about. Got there at 9am and the line was already wrapped around the block. Waited 3 hours in the sun and honestly the brisket was good, real good, but what stuck with me was watching the pitmaster come out and talk to folks in line. He was answering questions about smoke rings and fat rendering like he was chatting with old friends. Not once did he push the merch or act like a celebrity. Made me wonder, do other big name places treat their fans like that or is this just a Franklin thing? Has anyone else had a pitmaster actually hang out and shoot the breeze with the crowd at a famous spot?
