That time a competition judge told me my ribs were 'too clean' and I actually changed my whole method

A KCBS judge at a local comp in Tulsa said my ribs had perfect texture but no chew marks on the bones so I started leaving more bark on instead of trimming every last bit of fat and now I get better scores but my prep time went up by 45 minutes so is the extra effort actually worth it for a backyard cook who doesn't compete?

Tough to beat clean bones when you're feeding family, not judges.

Disagree man, judges are the ones who pay the bills in the end.
