Best and worst shift in the same week at the shop near Austin

Monday I rebuilt a 1970s Raleigh frame from scratch, smooth as butter, customer cried happy tears when they picked it up. Then Saturday a guy brought in a Walmart bike with that plastic derailleur hanger and I spent 45 minutes explaining why I couldn't just 'weld it back on' - which side wins in your experience?

Oh man, that Raleigh build sounds like a dream. Plastic hangers are the worst.
