Changed my mind about wearing a backpack on my ride to the office

Used to just throw my laptop and clothes in a regular backpack for my 4 mile commute. My back was always sweaty and it felt heavy. Borrowed my friend's pannier bag that clips onto a rear rack for a week. The bike felt way more balanced and I wasn't a mess when I got to work. Anyone else switch from a backpack and notice a big difference?

Yeah, I read a bike blog that called a sweaty backpack the "commuter's badge of shame." Switched to a rack and a simple bungee net myself. It's a game changer. My shirt stays dry and the bike just handles better, especially when I have to grab a bag of groceries on the way home. That little bit of weight off your shoulders makes the whole ride feel more like fun and less like a chore.

I mean, it's a sweaty back, not a moral failing. For a quick ride to the office I'm not gonna fuss with a rack setup. The backpack comes inside with me, the rack stays out in the rain... seems like a trade-off.
