Spent $180 on a Vermont American cross peen hammer, and it turned my forge around
Bought a Vermont American cross peen hammer at a flea market in Ohio for $180. My old hammer chipped on a leaf spring knife, but this one has drawn out steel clean for 6 months without a single issue. The weight feels right for the anvil I use. Has anyone else found a hammer that just fits their hand like that?
Man, that feeling of a hammer just clicking with your hand is unreal. My grandpa gave me his old ball peen years back and I still can't use anything else on the anvil.
