Had a long talk with a friend who runs a local game store last week
He told me they make more money hosting board game nights than selling actual games, and it got me thinking about how much the community matters over the product. So now I'm looking into starting a small meetup at my library instead of just buying more boxes for my shelf.

I read an article last year about how game cafes are actually keeping the hobby alive more than big box stores. The author made a good point that people don't want to drop $60 on a game they might not like, but they will pay $5 to try it with friends. Your library idea sounds smart because it removes that risk for new players. Plus libraries already have the space and don't expect you to buy anything. Have you checked if your library has a meeting room you can book for free?

Honestly, that's a really good point about the library meeting room idea. Ngl, I never even thought of that and it could be a total game changer for folks who just want to try stuff without any pressure. Tbh, it's nice to see people looking out for each other like this instead of just pushing sales.

Yeah library rooms are perfect for this. Totally free, no pressure to buy anything, and you can just pack up and leave when you're done. Most people don't even realize libraries let you book those rooms for free too.
