Shoutout to the gamers who dive into rulebooks
Just found out that for some, reading game rules is as fun as playing.

That line about reading rules being as fun as playing really hits home! I see this everywhere, like people who get a thrill from perfectly following a recipe or putting together furniture step-by-step. There's a whole quiet joy in figuring out a system and seeing how all the pieces are meant to fit together before you even start. For some folks, that prep work is where the fun is because it builds the anticipation. It turns the main activity from a confusing task into a smooth experience you can just relax into. I love that people find happiness in these different parts of a hobby.

Never thought how that RULE-READING could be a way to own the game before playing.

It's funny how this shows up in so many places, like when people read the manual for a new phone before even turning it on. They get a sense of control from knowing all the features and shortcuts upfront. Same with baking, where measuring everything exactly (according to the recipe) feels like part of the fun. It's like we're building a mental map so the actual doing part is less stressful. That rule-reading joy is really about reducing uncertainty, which makes any activity more enjoyable. Seeing systems work as intended gives a quiet satisfaction, almost like solving a puzzle before you start.
