That moment when a stranger at a game cafe taught me a better way to shuffle
I was at Mox Boarding House in Seattle last month during their open game night. I was struggling to shuffle my deck of sleeved cards without bending them, and this guy at the next table just leaned over and showed me the mash shuffle technique. He spent like 5 minutes walking me through it, no judgment at all. I've been playing games for years and nobody ever showed me that trick before. Now I can shuffle a 100 card deck in under 30 seconds. Has anyone else had a random stranger teach them something basic that totally changed how you play?

Have you ever noticed how some of the best tips come from total strangers who just happen to be nearby? Makes you wonder how many other simple tricks we're all missing out on just because nobody thought to mention them.

And that's exactly why I try to slow down and actually listen when someone random starts talking to me at the grocery store or gas station. @grace_hunt84 you're totally right, there's probably a dozen little life hacks floating around out there that nobody ever puts online because they just seem like common sense to the person who knows them. Reminds me of the time a guy at the auto parts store showed me a trick for fixing a cracked taillight with clear packing tape and it held for two years. Who knows what else is out there that we're all missing just because we keep our earbuds in and our eyes on our phones. Makes me want to start asking more questions when I see someone doing something in a smart way.
