Lately, I've noticed our debates skip over the characters entirely.
I wonder when we stopped caring about why folks in stories do things.

That point about skipping over characters is so true. I make a rule to ask "what did they lose or gain by doing that?" before we pick apart plot holes. Like, in debates about that heist film, everyone fights over the getaway plan, but nobody mentions the thief's guilt over his brother. What's one character detail you wish got more attention in talks?
