Our book club spent three meetings arguing over a single character's motive
Last month, my group in Chicago read a mystery novel where the detective lies at the end. Half of us thought it was a clever twist, the other half called it a cheap trick. We kept going in circles for weeks, pulling the same quotes. It finally clicked for me that we weren't actually debating the book, we were all just defending our first gut reaction. Has your club ever gotten stuck like that on one detail, refusing to budge?

How long did @jessec35's group take to realize they were just being stubborn?

Two months on one narrator? That's not a book club, that's a hostage situation. I bet the main character's backstory was settled faster than their argument.
