Had to choose between a rare heirloom tomato or a proven hybrid for my garden plot in Nashville... everyone said go hybrid, but I picked the heirloom.

My Nashville heirloom last year gave me three tomatoes and a great story.

Honestly, good call. That Nashville sun can cook plants, so you gotta baby heirlooms. Mine did way better with a thick layer of straw mulch and watering deep every other morning, not just a sprinkle. Tbh the taste is worth the extra fuss.

Great story" is the key part there. You get a few weird looking tomatoes and a fun thing to tell people. It's not exactly a life changing choice.
