I thought those 'plant food' spikes were a total scam until my fiddle leaf fig put out 3 new leaves in a month.

I was convinced they were just colored fertilizer sticks, but after my plant in the corner by the west window started looking sad, I stuck one in the soil as a last resort before repotting, and the growth spurt was undeniable.
