Stopped killing my orchids after one simple watering change

I was drowning my phalaenopsis for two years. Read a tip to use ice cubes instead of a watering can. Now three have rebloomed in six months. Anyone else tried the ice cube method?

Found the same thing with mine. I switched to putting two ice cubes on the soil once a week and my phals perked right up. One of them had yellow leaves for months before I tried it, and now it’s pushing out a new flower spike. Makes it way easier to avoid overwatering when you can’t eyeball the right amount.

anthony426 said "eyeball the right amount" and that's exactly my problem too. I overwatered a pothos so bad once it basically turned into soup, now I just stick my finger in the dirt and if its dry to the first knuckle I water it.
