Trader Joe's vs. Aldi for a $60 weekly haul, which one actually stretches further?
I hit up both stores last Tuesday with the same list, 20 items, mostly staples like rice, beans, eggs, and some produce. At Aldi I spent $54.87, and at Trader Joe's the same stuff ran me $68.20, but the quality difference was noticeable, especially the eggs and the bagged salad. My thing is, Aldi wins on price but TJ's has those frozen meal options that save me on nights I don't feel like cooking, which is a whole other cost when I'd otherwise order takeout. So which side are you on, do you go for the rock bottom prices and deal with limited brands, or pay a bit more for better produce and ready-to-eat stuff? Has anyone else done a side by side comparison like this, or am I just overthinking my grocery run?
