Dropped $220 on a meal kit trial and did the math on what I really paid per dinner
I signed up for one of those meal kit trials back in March because the first box was only $25 for 4 meals and it felt like a steal. Then the boxes kept coming at full price, about $85 a week, and I just let it ride for 6 weeks before I sat down with a calculator. Turns out I was paying close to $14 a plate for food I still had to cook myself, plus my grocery run stayed the same because I still bought breakfast and lunch stuff. I could've made the same chicken and rice dishes for maybe $3 a plate at the Aldi on Hamilton Rd and had leftovers for two days. I called and canceled and the guy offered me 40% off to stay, which honestly made me feel dumb for not asking sooner. Anyone else get sucked into a trial and only catch on after the price jumps?
