I finally saw my emergency fund hit $5,000 and it felt weird

I've been putting $200 from each paycheck into a separate account for over two years, just automatically. I checked the balance this morning and it was $5,127. It's more cash than I've ever had sitting there doing nothing. Part of me thinks it's a huge win and I should feel safe, but another part wonders if that money should be working harder somewhere else. For those who hit a big savings number, did you feel relief or start second-guessing where it was?

Wait you only put in $200 a paycheck and got to five grand in two years? That math is not mathing for me, unless you get paid like every week. Even then, that's a crazy fast build.

Nah, it's actually pretty possible if the market did well. I put in $200 every two weeks, so that's around $5,200 over two years just from my own money. But my account grew way more than that because the investments themselves went up in value. I had a couple stocks that basically doubled, so the growth wasn't just from my regular deposits.
